It is that time of year again! National Novel Writing Month (Nanowrimo) is in full swing!
I am writing this post in October, anticipating that by mid-month November, I will be in serious need of a shower, sleep-deprived, and suffering from a slight tremor from too much caffeine.
In the mean time, I wanted to wish everyone Happy Holidays over the upcoming months and I thought I might share the direction I’d like to go in with future projects.
I’ll break it up below so you can decide whether you want to pick and choose what you’d like to read or devour the whole thing!
There is a fifth novel on the way! After the publication of Soul Prison, it’s full writing-speed ahead with team Docherty. My hope is to publish both the Soul Prison novella and the fifth Docherty novel next year.
The Dark Curse left off on quite a bit of a cliffhanger and there is so much ahead for our characters. I have been looking forward to writing this next novel for a long time. I planned it back when I wrote The Vampire’s Mirror, and while I’ve loved each novel I’ve written, I am SO excited for this one. However, because it has been built on events since The Demon’s Tears it will take a lot of planning and prep time to do it justice. And so, I am going to buckle down in the new year and give this novel my all.
I would also like to take this time to announce that the 6th novel of the Detective Docherty series will be the last for the main storyline. I had always had a clear start and ending for this series and wanted to announce that now, so that when the fifth novel is published, announcing the last book will not be as much of a shock.
The good news is, I have several novels planned after the main series for us to revisit the world and catch up with certain characters, so there will still be adventures to be had in the Dochertyverse.
The Necromancer Series
Soul Prison will be the next installment in The Necromancer series. This novella will be a side adventure taking us into a death god’s hell dimension.
After Soul Prison, the next novel (yet to be named) will focus on Cecile and her undead family living in Toronto. We’ll get more insight into the wizard society and see how Cecile and her undead navigate life in school and in the city. I have some surprises ready for this story and I am very excited about them.
I also wanted to announce here as well that the fourth necromancer novel will be the last in this series–but it won’t be the last time we see our necromancer and her undead family in the Dochertyverse–but more on that in the new year 😉
Future Books and Series
What other books and series do I have planned?
The truth is, I have a lot of novels and series planned alongside Docherty. They are a mixture of fantasy, science fiction, YA (Young Adult), and even steampunk! I am so excited for all of the new worlds and characters that I can hardly contain myself, but for now, we have several books to go before I move on to new stories and universes.
I may have discussed (I really don’t know anymore, lol) in previous posts and issues that I’d like to incorporate more of my artwork into my books and start producing illustrated novels. Some of these will be YA and others will be adult in nature. In order to get to where I’d like to be-art-wise, I’ll be enrolling in art classes. Until then, I’ll continue practicing and developing my characters and storylines.
There’s so much ahead and I am so excited for all of it. I hope that you enjoyed this post and that it hasn’t been too long winded. I felt it was high time I shared my vision for my publishing company with you and to start getting ready for all of the new adventures we’ll be taking together.
Thank you so much for all of your support and taking the time to read this.
